Masdevallia Pinchincha 'Eruption'

Masdevallia Pinchincha 'Eruption' is a named clone known for producing vivid orange-red flowers with fused sepals that form a short tubular shape ending in stubby tails. The flowers are borne singly on upright inflorescences above compact, dark green foliage. Like other Masdevallias from high-altitude regions, it prefers consistently cool temperatures, high humidity, and pure water.

Care Tips:

  • Light: Provide bright, filtered light. Avoid exposure to direct sun.
  • Water: Keep moist at all times using pure, low-mineral water. Do not allow to dry out.
  • Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally above 75%, with good air movement.
  • Media: Grow in sphagnum moss or fine bark mix with excellent drainage and airflow.
  • Temperature: Performs best in cool to intermediate temperatures, 10–22 °C.
  • Fertiliser: Feed every 2–3 weeks with diluted orchid fertiliser during active growth. Flush periodically to prevent salt build-up.
  • Repotting: Repot annually or when media breaks down, ideally after flowering.
